Volleyball Recap: Sneads Extends Winning Streak to Three

Sneads waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Marianna Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pirates also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

While Sneads won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-16, 25-23.

Sneads' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Morgan Veilleux led the charge by getting 13 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Veilleux a new career-high in assists (33). Another player making a difference was LaRay Gibbs, who had 20 digs and two aces.

Sneads' win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Marianna, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sneads will host Blountstown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Pirates' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Marianna, they will be playing at home against Community Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
