Desert Hills is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Crimson Cliffs is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Thunder will welcome the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Desert Hills is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Desert Hills came out on top against Dixie on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Thunder were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Flyers. The result was nothing new for the Thunder, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Sam Spencer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Lily Ringel and Riley Greene did most of the damage at the plate: Ringel went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Greene got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Ringel has posted since back in April of 2025. Jayla Ybright was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Crimson Cliffs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over Hurricane on Friday.
Jordyn Cluff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Paige Tuckfield was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyah Snyder, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Crimson Cliffs' victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Desert Hills, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Desert Hills has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Crimson Cliffs struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Desert Hills skirted past Crimson Cliffs 4-2 in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Will the Thunder repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
