After five games on the road, Niceville is heading back home. The Niceville Eagles and the Milton Panthers will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Milton took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Niceville, who comes in off a win.
Niceville stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Chiles, posting a 68-33 win on the road. Given Niceville's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Chiles is ranked 326th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Niceville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jazmyn Fowler led the charge by scoring 13 points along with five steals and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fowler has scored all season. Kiyah Hatcher was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Milton unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Pace by a score of 33-31. Milton has struggled against Pace recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Niceville pushed their record up to 16-4 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points per game. As for Milton, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
Niceville beat Milton 40-31 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Does Niceville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Milton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
