The Community School of Naples Seahawks will venture away from home to face off against the IMG Academy White Ascenders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Community School of Naples will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Community School of Naples will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Canterbury, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Community School of Naples walked away with a 9-5 win over Canterbury on Thursday. While the Seahawks didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Nathan Rapp made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Nick Renteria was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Emmett Perez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, IMG Academy White sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over Bell Creek Academy on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ascenders.
IMG Academy White also got a great performance from Avriel Tostado as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Owen Armstead was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of IMG Academy White's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-5 when he doesn't). Miles Canning was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
IMG Academy White's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Community School of Naples, they moved to 7-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Community School of Naples came up short against IMG Academy White in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 6-3. Can Community School of Naples avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
