Malvern faced Bauxite in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Leopards blew past the Miners 16-7. The Leopards might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

The win (which was Malvern's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bauxite, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Malvern beat the Miners by a score of 15-7 later that day.
