There's no place like home for the Salmen Spartans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past Mt. Carmel 61-26 at home. Given Salmen's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while Mt. Carmel is ranked 205th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Salmen found their leader in underclassman Treasure Mccall, who scored 19 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Kendal Thomas, who scored 12 points along with 5 assists.
Salmen's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Mt. Carmel, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salmen will square off against Northshore at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northshore and Salmen are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Mt. Carmel, they will head out on the road to face off against Slidell at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Slidell is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
