The Westfall Mustangs will challenge the Sheridan Generals at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Westfall is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over Chillicothe on Saturday. The Mustangs not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23rd (when they won 10-0).

Noah Stonerock looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Westfall is 6-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-7 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Westfall got a massive performance out of Nate Wolfe, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave Wolfe a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cory Green, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Westfall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Sheridan had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Saturday. They blew past the Lions 13-3. The Generals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Connor Roshon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Roshon was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Noah Wamer and Camdyn Packer did most of the damage at the plate: Wamer earned three runs and two stolen bases, while Packer went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Packer has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. James Solomon was another key player, going 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Sheridan's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Westfall, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Westfall has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Sheridan struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Westfall couldn't quite get it done against Sheridan in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 as they fell 15-10. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
