Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Red Bud took both sets by at least 16 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-9.
Meanwhile, Okawville unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Chester by a score of 2-1. While the Rockets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Yellowjackets 25-20 in the first set.
Okawville started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-21, 25-17.
Red Bud will have to keep a close watch on Cadee Wiedwilt and Kenley Hackstadt, a pair of players who had a big impact on Okawville's prior game. Wiedwilt had 13 digs, while Hackstadt had 27 assists and nine digs. Hackstadt is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in each of the last 12 games she's played.
Red Bud's win bumped their record up to 22-1. As for Okawville, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Red Bud has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.6 aces per game. However, it's not like Okawville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
