Wellington is a perfect 5-0 against Timnath since August of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Cubs at 11:00 a.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wellington has three straight victories, Timnath has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Wellington is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Greeley Central with a sharp 22-1 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Hayven Sutton made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in September. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
In other batting news, Wellington got a massive performance out of Kensley Story, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. With that strong performance, Story is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Charley Somday, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.
Wellington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Timnath and Northridge faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Thursday. The Cubs took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grizzlies.
Wellington's record now sits at 15-3. As for Timnath, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13-1.
Wellington took their victory against Timnath in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 10-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
