Ever since five-star point guard
Elliot Cadeau from the Class of 2024 committed to North Carolina shortly after Christmas, the speculation had been that he would eventually reclassify and arrive in Chapel Hill as a member of the Class of 2023.
The speculation can now end as Cadeau announced on Tuesday that he will be enrolling early and taking the floor for Hubert Davis and the Heels during the 2023-24 season. His addition is a valuable one and gives Carolina another needed ball handler and creator to set up shooters and help create opportunities for star big man Armando Bacot in the lane.

After playing a starring role for a national championship team at
Link Academy (Branson, Mo.) during the high school season, Cadeau has spent the last couple of months tearing up the Nike EYBL circuit posting 15.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game in 17 appearances while leading the New Heights Lightning to a record of 14-3.
While Cadeau is an A+ level passer and creator for his teammates, his explosiveness off the dribble, sturdy 6-foot-1 frame, tough on-ball defense and improvement as a scorer have allowed him to take his game to another level. He should be ready to make an immediate impact and joins a 2023 class that already includes four-star combo guard
Simeon Wilcher, four-star power forward
Zayden High and transfer portal additions Harrison Ingram, Cormac Ryan, Jae'Lyn Withers and Paxson Wojcik.
