Baseball Recap: Penn Manor Sets Scoring Season-High Against Cedar Crest

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Penn Manor). They were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Cedar Crest Falcons on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Comets considering their one-run performance the contest before.

The team relied heavily on Ethan Transue, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Angel Luna was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Penn Manor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Penn Manor's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Cedar Crest, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Meanwhile, Cedar Crest is set to challenge their familiar foe J.P. McCaskey at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for the Falcons and 11 for the Red Tornado.
