While Broomfield's victory against Holy Family wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles skirted past the Tigers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since September 14, 2024.
Broomfield took Holy Family into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 20-25, 15-9.
Broomfield relied on the efforts of Madi Thistle, who had 15 digs, and Addie Lombardo, who had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Lombardo has posted over her last seven contests.
Erie extended their road winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Berklie Esparza. The Tigers had just enough and edged out Fairview 3-2 on Thursday thanks in part to Esparza, who had 17 digs and two aces. She also put up two assists, which were her first of the season.
Erie had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 15-25, 25-22, 28-26, 15-8.
Broomfield's record now sits at 7-10. As for Erie, their record is now 12-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Broomfield has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.6 aces per game.
