The Denver City Mustangs were the 48-42 winner over the Kermit Yellow Jackets when they last played one another back in December of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. Denver City took a 48-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kermit on Saturday. Denver City has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kermit can attribute much of their success to Brayden Pando, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 3 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Juarez, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Denver City has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. As for Kermit, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
Denver City will head out on the road to face off against Muleshoe at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kermit, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tornillo at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tornillo is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
