The Marshall Rams suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 78-47 defeat at the hands of SA Roosevelt. Marshall has struggled against SA Roosevelt recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Marshall still got an impressive performance from Aric Goodman, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jai Lopez, who scored eight points.
Even though they lost, Marshall were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. This was only their 14th loss (out of 20 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
SA Roosevelt's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Liserio, who scored 15 points along with five assists and two steals. Liserio hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Jordan Thomas was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Marshall has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season. As for SA Roosevelt, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-16 record this season.
Marshall on the road again on Wednesday and play against Brandeis at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Brandeis is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for SA Roosevelt, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lee at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lee presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than SA Roosevelt in Texas (Lee is ranked 149th, while SA Roosevelt is ranked 535th).
