The Fort Lauderdale Flying L's have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Taravella 42-14 at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Fort Lauderdale.
Fort Lauderdale found their leader in underclassman Azaziah Evans-Blake, who scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Shaina Kinlocke, who scored six points.
Fort Lauderdale's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Taravella, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Lauderdale won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pompano Beach at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. Pompano Beach is on a six-game streak of home losses, Fort Lauderdale a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for Taravella, they will head out on the road to face off against Coral Glades at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th.
