The Northwood Rangers won the last time they faced the Ottawa Hills Green Bears, and things went their way on Friday too. Northwood put the hurt on Ottawa Hills with a sharp 44-19 win. Given Northwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while Ottawa Hills is ranked 649th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Northwood can attribute much of their success to Natalie Thompson, who scored 14 points along with seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Schroeder, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and six steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Northwood and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Ottawa Hills, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwood will stay at home for another game and welcome Lima Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th. Lima Central Catholic comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Ottawa Hills, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Swanton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
