Solomon extended the longest winning streak in Wheat State (8 Man) this week by beating Canton-Galva, 61-14. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Gorillas.
White City took down Burrton 56-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Sam Morgan threw for 112 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 78 yards in the win.
Goessel's dynamic duo of Trey Schmidt and Zach Showalter proved tough for St. John's Military to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Schmidt threw for 226 yards and five touchdowns and Showalter had 143 yards receiving. Shane Goerzen helped Goessel's passing attack out by catching two balls for 40 yards.
Chord Zeller made the biggest impact on defense this week as Little River topped Lincoln. The 6-foot-2 sophomore grabbed 3.0 sacks.
Chet Cordell was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 32 carries, he ran for 196 yards as the Redskins defeated the Muleskinners. Brady Holler also contributed to the rushing game with 79 yards on the ground.
Goessel's Schmidt and Nic Buller have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Schmidt has thrown for 1214 yards this season, while Buller, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 26 catches for 416 yards. Colton Shirack from Solomon leads the league in rushing with 667 yards.
The marquee game in Wheat State (8 Man) this week will be the clash between Tim Cross' team and Little River. The Gorillas enters the contest ranked fourth in the state, while Paul Dold's team ranks 15th.
Garrett Hiebert's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 789 from 865. The improvement came about via a 66-40 victory over St. John's Military last week.
