Baseball Recap: Ecorse Has No Trouble Against Northwestern

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Ecorse walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over the Northwestern Colts on Tuesday. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by nine runs or more this season.

Elijah Carl made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Ecorse got a massive performance out of Korry Buxton, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Buxton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elijah Darby, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Ecorse's victory bumped their record up to 15-8-1. As for Northwestern, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-21.

As of now, neither Ecorse nor the Colts have any future games scheduled.
