Make it nine blowout wins for the Summerville Green Wave this season. They put the hurt on Stall with a sharp 57-36 victory on Tuesday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-15.
It was another big night for Molly Daugherty, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Krissa Lavassar, who scored seven points along with five assists.
Despite the loss, Stall still got an impressive performance from Makayla Waiters, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Waiters has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brianna Williams, who scored nine points along with three steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Summerville and bumps their season record up to 17-6. As for Stall, they dropped their record down to 15-9 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Summerville will take on the Wildcats at 7:00 a.m. on Friday. West Ashley is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Stall, they will be playing at home against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Carolina (Fort Dorchester is ranked 75th, while the Warriors are ranked 99th).
