AA District 12 recap November 19, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in AA District 12 this week, Christ Presbyterian Academy beat East Nashville Magnet 38-14. The win marks 12th in a row for the the Lions.
Christ Presbyterian Academy was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating the Eagles. Ingle Martin's team came in at 18 in the state poll after placing at number 28 last week.
Andrew Manuel made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Lions defeated East Nashville Magnet. He forced 1 fumble.
Kenton Baker was the best receiver in the league this week as Giles County beat Pearl-Cohn. Baker tallied 4 receptions for 90 yards. Brandon Houston helped Giles County's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 74 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Baker. The Giles County star has 42 catches for 934 yards.
Christ Presbyterian Academy's Thomas Richard is a few successful plays short of surpassing 1,000 yards receiving this season. He needs only 83 receiving yards against Fairview to hit that benchmark. So far this year, he has garnered 58 catches for 917 yards.
The Lions took down Brian Waite's team 38-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Zack Weatherly threw for 107 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 11 yards during the win.
