Despite the loss, Whittell saw an underclassman step up: Alex Rvovic scored 23 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Rvovic scored a full 60.5% of Whittell's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Rocky Laremore, who scored 0 points along with 9 assists and 6 rebounds.
Leading Surprise Valley to victory were Iina Nabahe-Henry and Casey Grove. Nabahe-Henry scored 17 points, while Grove scored 20 points. The matchup was Grove's third in a row with at least ten points. Kevin Castillo was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Whittell's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Surprise Valley, they now have a winning record of 2-1-1.
Whittell is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Owyhee at 7:45 p.m. on December 6th. As for Surprise Valley, they will be playing at home against Big Valley at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Big Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday.
