After three games on the road, Rivercrest is heading back home. They will take on the Izard County Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Rivercrest was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to Osceola. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Rivercrest came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Osceola is ranked 234th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Mykayla Banks, who scored 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Mercuriah Vance was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 14 rebounds and six blocks.
Meanwhile, Izard County entered their tilt with South Side with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine.
