The Islip Buccaneers will venture away from home to challenge the Hampton Bays Baymen at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Hampton Bays took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Islip, who comes in off a win.
Islip is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Shoreham-Wading River 14-1 on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Lauren Hofmann spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Islip got a massive performance out of Grace Ryan, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Ryan also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Peighton Mckenna, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Islip lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Hampton Bays came up short against Sayville on Thursday, falling 10-2. The Baymen haven't had much luck with the Golden Flashes recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Hampton Bays saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shea Egan, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Lillyann Maffia was another, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
The victory made it two in a row for Islip and bumps their season record up to 6-5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Hampton Bays, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
Islip took their victory against Hampton Bays in their previous meeting on April 8th by a conclusive 12-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
