Verdigris is 0-3 against Holland Hall since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Verdigris Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Holland Hall Dutch at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Verdigris focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
Last Friday, Verdigris was able to grind out a solid win over Miami, taking the game 61-52. The win made it back-to-back wins for Verdigris.
Verdigris' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maddox Mason, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Mason has scored at least 25% of Verdigris' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Coy Lemons, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Holland Hall didn't have too much trouble with Memorial at home on Friday as they won 51-33.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 2-0 season records intact.
Things could have been worse for Verdigris, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-42 loss to Holland Hall when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Can Verdigris avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
