The Clear Falls Knights''s game two weeks ago was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 42-10 victory over Brazoswood. Given Clear Falls' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Brazoswood is ranked 558th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clear Falls' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Payton Greer, who rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Dylan Proctor also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Brazoswood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shaydon Coulter. Despite the final result, he picked up 98 receiving yards and a touchdown. Coulter's longest reception was for an incredible 79 yards.
Clear Falls' victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.3 points per game. As for Brazoswood, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Coincidentally, Clear Falls and Brazoswood will both be playing Clear Lake the next time they take the field. Clear Falls will host Clear Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Brazoswood will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
