The Howard Lions were the 64-60 winner over the River Hill Hawks when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Howard suffered a rough 78-57 loss at the hands of River Hill on Wednesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
River Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aiden Igwebe led the charge by scoring 16 points along with 9 steals and 5 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Przyzycki, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds.
Howard's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for River Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Howard will challenge Chesapeake at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for River Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against Atholton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Atholton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday.
