The Huntington Red Devils will be playing at home against the Woodville Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Huntington come in still looking for their first win of the season.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 60-19, which was the final score in Huntington's tilt against Crockett on Friday. Huntington has struggled against Crockett recently, as Friday's contest was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Woodville earned a 28-18 victory over Coldspring-Oakhurst two Fridays ago. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Woodville.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ralon Williams, who threw for 172 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Bean, who picked up 129 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Huntington's loss was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.13 points per game. Woodville has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Huntington took a serious blow against Woodville when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 56-12. Will Huntington have more luck at home instead of on the road?
