Two dominant backs in PARKER BORER and Maverick Binder are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Boone Central Cardinals will take on the Auburn Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Boone Central comes in on 11 and Auburn on six.
Boone Central stacked a eighth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-7 victory over Lakeview at home. With Boone Central ahead 27-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Boone Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than BORER, who rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. BORER hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for seven straight games. JAMES FOGLEMAN also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, even though Ogallala scored an imposing 32 points on Friday, Auburn still came out on top. Auburn snuck past Ogallala with a 36-32 victory.
Binder was his usual excellent self, rushing for 192 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Binder was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Another player making a difference was Nixon Ligouri, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown.
Boone Central's win was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.7 points per game. As for Auburn, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Boone Central has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 271.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Auburn struggles in that department as they've been averaging 249.7 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
