Even though the Lake City Panthers scored an imposing 57 points on Wednesday, the Camden Bulldogs still came out on top. Camden strolled past the Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 71-57. The score was all tied up 23-23 at the break, but Camden was the better team in the second half.
Leading Camden to victory were Israel Macklin and Jahmarie Mcleod. Macklin scored 18 points, while Mcleod scored 22 points. Mcleod is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Lavel Greene was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Blayne Edwards and Dallas Davis certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Edwards dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Davis dropped a triple-double on 12 points, ten assists, and 11 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Edwards has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Bryson Rose, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Camden's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Lake City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Camden will take on the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Darlington is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road. As for Lake City, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Gators at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th.
