The Shoshoni Wranglers were the 59-30 winner over the Meeteetse Longhorns when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Shoshoni fell 52-45 to Meeteetse on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that Shoshoni has lost by exactly seven points.
Meeteetse was led to victory by Max Potas and Ethan Salzman. Potas scored 17 points along with nine rebounds, while Salzman scored 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Potas has scored at least 25% of Meeteetse's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnathan Ogden, who scored six points along with five steals.
Shoshoni now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Meeteetse, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shoshoni will face off against Big Piney at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Piney has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 169 points over their last three matchups. Meeteetse will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kaycee at 11:00 a.m. on January 6, 2024. Kaycee is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
