The matchup between Marshalltown and Hoover on Tuesday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Bobcats' defense stepped up to hand the Huskies an 8-0 shutout. Considering Marshalltown have won five matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Marshalltown's third in a row) raised their record to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those three games. As for Hoover, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Looking ahead, Marshalltown will head out to challenge Ames at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ames' defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Marshalltown's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Hoover, they will take on Ottumwa at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
