The Robertsdale Golden Bears can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Chickasaw out 52-49. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Robertsdale also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Robertsdale's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tanner Williams led the charge by scoring 17 points. Another player making a difference was Kole Singler, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Several Chieftains players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marvin Brooks, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. Brooks is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last seven games he's played. Sydrus Gilmore was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Robertsdale's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-16. As for Chickasaw, their loss dropped their record down to 18-8.
Robertsdale will head out on the road to take on the Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. McGill-Toolen will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. Chickasaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
