The Centennial Knights will head out to challenge the Blessed Trinity Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
On Friday, Centennial had to suffer through a 55-20 loss at the hands of Kell. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Longhorns are ranked 39th).
Centennial's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aj Hatton, who threw for 198 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Junior Howard, who picked up 105 receiving yards and two scores. Howard was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 67 yards.
Meanwhile, while Blessed Trinity put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Westminster. The Titans breezed past the Wildcats to the tune of 56-0. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 28 points or more this season.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Ahmontae Pitts and MJ Craft. Pitts gained 157 total yards and four touchdowns while Craft rushed for 163 yards and two TDs on only 13 carries. Those 163 rushing yards gave Craft a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Page, who threw for 105 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes.
Blessed Trinity was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 312 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Blessed Trinity's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Christian Wolfe, Dawson Jacobs, and D.J. Jacobs, who each picked up one sack apiece.
This is the second loss in a row for Centennial and nudges their season record down to 5-3. As for Blessed Trinity, their record is now an identical 5-3.
Centennial was dealt a bruising 41-3 defeat at the hands of Blessed Trinity in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Pitts, who rushed for 137 yards and three scores. Now that the Knights know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
