The Jefferson City Jays and the Kearney Bulldogs squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Jefferson City Jays had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Bulldogs on the road and fell 42-7. Jefferson City's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Jefferson City still got an impressive performance from Bradarious Lewis, who rushed for 146 yards while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Lewis was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards.
Jefferson City's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Kearney, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2.
Jefferson City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kearney will square off against Hillsboro at TBD on Saturday. Hillsboro is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
