Burns came tearing into Monday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Morehead Panthers 14-4. Considering the Bulldogs have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Burns pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Morehead, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.

Coming up, Burns will head out on the road to face off against Grimsley at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Morehead, they will take on Eastern Alamance in a tournament on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
