Baseball Recap: Simla Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Simla waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Calhan Bulldogs with a sharp 16-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Cubs, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Tatum Kocerha was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Simla: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Cauthon, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Simla always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Simla's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Calhan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Simla does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Calhan, they will square off against Crowley County at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Chargers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
