The LaFayette Bulldogs lost against the Lanett Panthers two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. LaFayette received a tough blow as they fell 43-28 to Lanett. LaFayette has struggled against Lanett recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Lanett was led to victory by MaKiah White and Laila Lancaster. White scored seven points along with seven rebounds, while Lancaster scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Armani Langdon, who scored eight points.
LaFayette's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Lanett, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.
LaFayette will head out on the road to square off against Horseshoe Bend at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Horseshoe Bend presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than LaFayette in Alabama (Horseshoe Bend is ranked 180th, while LaFayette is ranked 373rd). Lanett won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Callaway at 3:30 p.m. on January 20th. Callaway is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
