The Cornerstone Christian Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by East 92-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Saturday (55), Cornerstone Christian still had to take the loss.
Cornerstone Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quinn Kwasniak, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Kwasniak scored a full 41.9% of Cornerstone Christian's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Pugh, who scored 21 points.
Cornerstone Christian has fallen quite a ways from their 22-5 record last season and are now at 1-5. As for East, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Cornerstone Christian will finish 2023 at home by hosting Medina Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for East, they will head out on the road to face off against Hubbard at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th.
