The McKinney Boyd Broncos will square off against the Plano East Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. McKinney Boyd is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Last Tuesday, McKinney Boyd came up short against Prosper and fell 8-3. The Broncos have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Madison Treadwell was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Addyson Lewis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
Meanwhile, Plano East also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Prosper by a score of 5-1. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Gina Martin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.
McKinney Boyd's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Plano East, their loss dropped their record down to 16-9.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. McKinney Boyd hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. However, it's not like Plano East struggles in that department as they've averaged .347. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went McKinney Boyd's way against Plano East when the teams last played on March 4th, as McKinney Boyd made off with a 17-6 win. Will McKinney Boyd repeat their success, or does Plano East has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
