Yorktown made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Pendleton Heights, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Tigers fell just short of the Arabians by a score of 24-22 on Friday. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sam Tokar, who rushed for 37 yards and one TD, and also threw for 148 yards and one touchdown. Kaden Crumes was Tokar's top target, picking up 55 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 31 yards.
Brandt Gray had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 97 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 184 yards and one touchdown while completing 82.4% of his passes for Pendleton Heights. Those 184 passing yards gave Gray a new career-high. 84 of Gray's passing yards were hauled in by Cooper Sims, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 6-2. As for Pendleton Heights, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
