Cranston East had lost three games at home, but after bumping their record up to 2-8 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They won by a run and slipped past the Prout Crusaders 13-12. That's more bragging rights for the Thunderbolts, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

At bat, Defusco got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Leon got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Those two stolen bases gave Defusco a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harrison Fisher, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Anthony Pimentel was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Cranston East always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
As for Prout, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-5. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (ten), they still had to take the loss.
On Prout's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Chofay, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one double. Chofay has become a key player for the Crusaders: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise.
Coming up, Cranston East will take on Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Prout, they will challenge Narragansett at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. The last three games the Mariners have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
