Cassadaga Valley has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Frewsburg Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 81-50, which was the final score in Cassadaga Valley's tilt against the Cardinals on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cassadaga Valley in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, even though Silver Creek scored an imposing 60 points on Tuesday, Frewsburg still came out on top. Frewsburg managed a 64-60 win over the Black Knights. The win made it back-to-back wins for Frewsburg.
It was another big night for Gavin Smith, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Smith is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 18 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Haglund, who scored 12 points along with six assists.
Cassadaga Valley dropped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Frewsburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Cassadaga Valley might still be hurting after the 72-51 loss they got from the Bears in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Smith, who went 7 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 4 assists. Now that Cassadaga Valley knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
