The Amundsen Vikings are taking a road trip to face off against the Kenwood Broncos at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Amundsen's victory against Kennedy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings skirted past the Crusaders 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since April 24th.

Henry Kalmus looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Antonio Yanez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Pierce Bakker, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Kenwood waltzed into their match on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They never let the Sun Warriors get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.
Josiah Patterson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Patterson was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Daniel Luster, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Brandon Stinson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.
Kenwood hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.
Kenwood pushed their record up to 13-6-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Amundsen, their record is now 8-20.
Amundsen couldn't quite get it done against Kenwood in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 as they fell 6-3. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
