Baseball Recap: Pope John Paul II Wins Going Away Against Pottstown

Pope John Paul II won against Upper Merion Area last Wednesday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Everything went Pope John Paul II's way against the Pottstown Trojans as Pope John Paul II made off with a 15-0 win. Pope John Paul II has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Pottstown, too.

Tyler Timdall made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, AJ Diaddezio was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-2. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chase Frantz, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Pope John Paul II always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .846. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pottstown only posted an OBP of .100.

Pope John Paul II has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 15.0 runs this season. As for Pottstown, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
