With a playoff game on the line, the Stockbridge Tigers rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 35-14 margin over the Jaguars. The victory was nothing new for Stockbridge as they're now sitting on 11 straight.
It was another big night for Jayden "duke" Scott, who rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Scott is absolutely dominating the rushing touchdown category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the field this season.
Another reason for the win was Stockbridge's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 11 sacks. It was a group effort, with four picking up two apiece.
Despite the loss, Spalding still got an impressive performance from Curt Clark, who rushed for 85 yards, and also threw for 216 yards and two touchdowns.
Stockbridge's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Spalding, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-1.
Stockbridge will take on Benedictine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Benedictine is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Spalding does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
