Cyprus got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Koli Fosita out in front who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Beckham Bayles, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Hunter's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Juan Diego Catholic at home and fell 68-34. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hunter has scored all season.
Zaquel Cossa put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Uluaki Taukiuvea, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Cyprus' victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-13. As for Hunter, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Cyprus hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 51.1 points per game. It's a different story for Hunter, though, as they've been averaging only 59.2 points per game. The only thing between Cyprus and another offensive beatdown is Hunter. Cyprus strolled past Hunter in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 89-73. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Hunter's Devan Morris, who scored 23 points.
