Softball Recap: Fort Bragg Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Fort Bragg came into Tuesday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Upper Lake Cougars 13-3 on Tuesday. Considering the Timberwolves have won four matchups by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Andrea Escobedo made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Escobedo was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Emily Silva was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Sierra Thompson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Fort Bragg's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Upper Lake, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Fort Bragg will square off against rival Lower Lake at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Upper Lake is set to face off against their familiar foe Cloverdale at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
