The Keenan Raiders had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 50-37 win over Fairfield Central. Given Keenan's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Fairfield Central is ranked 246th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Keenan was led to victory by Rashard Robinson Jr and Brian Sumpter. Robinson Jr scored eight points along with six steals and three blocks, while Sumpter dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. Sumpter is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cedric Schofield, who scored 11 points.
Keenan pushed their record up to 9-16 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Fairfield Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-19.
Keenan will head out on the road to challenge Fairfield Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Keenan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Fairfield Central, they will be playing at home against Keenan at 7:30 p.m.
