Celeste is a perfect 3-0 against Saltillo since March of 2025 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Blue Devils will head out to challenge the Lions at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Celeste put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Sulphur Bluff as they made off with a 21-1 win. Considering the Blue Devils have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Harper Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mya Mainord was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Ollie Haakantu, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Celeste was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Saltillo hadn't done well against North Hopkins recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Lions blew past the Panthers 19-4.
The victory got Saltillo back to even at 1-1. As for Celeste, their record now sits at 11-4-1.
Everything went Celeste's way against Saltillo in their previous meeting last Tuesday, as Celeste made off with an 18-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
