There's no place like home for the Frederick Golden Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 67-66 photo finish over Thompson Valley. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Frederick was led to victory by JJ Strojinc and Jovan Aldana. Strojinc scored 25 points, while Aldana scored 19 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Aldana has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Zach Burton, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Frederick pushed their record up to 7-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.3 points per game. As for Thompson Valley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Frederick will take on Severance at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Severance focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday. As for Thompson Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain View at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mountain View and Thompson Valley are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
